contextual advertising gone wrong.

Posted by on March 14, 2008

So, I have become something of an internet filter for some of my friends. A filter of a filter, actually. I send Jen, Veen, Mary, and occassionally, S/A, Shelli, or Vroman things from Digg that I think they will like.

When I got an ad in my gmail that said

The Love Ewe – muttonbone.com – Our giant, original blow up sheep is the perfect gag gift!

I was more than a little chagrined that Google the wise, Google the all-powerful, Google the master of the contextual advertisement had me pegged as a sheep-fucker(pun probably not intended).

Then Jen pointed out that I had very recently sent her this link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Mmb5aSscck with the subject “Sheep Video”

oops.
